THE ONE SECOND AGO

Now I know

Life is a passing of everything

An inexorable procession of moments

I am so far away from one second ago

I will never meet her again

But I knew her

Each second carries me further away from the one before it

The transient flavors of my breakfast have dissolved into a memory.

The melting sweetness of my KitKat

A bittersweet nostalgia

The yearning for bygone moments resonates with a poignant truth

It was too quick

The transitions are too permanent

Well,

Perhaps all that life is, is missing

An acknowledgment of its ephemeral essence
